A unique adventurous and fun hen or bachelor party on the most active volcano in Europe to discover the most suggestive craters on the volcano accompanied by a hiking guide. During the excursion on Etna we follow a path with multiple landscapes: we cross high altitude meadows, dense forest formations, recent lava flows and other ancient ones where nature has taken over. We cross the forest of Monte Vetore and observe the pines, the broom of Etna and the typical native plants such as the astralago of Etna. We reach the lava flow of the 1985 eruption and the adjacent slags of a volcanic cone. We arrive in a cave to admire its particular lava flow gallery which looks like a well with overhanging walls. After observing the cave, we enter a refuge to refresh ourselves and begin the tasting of Etna wines and typical Sicilian products. In winter we can also light the fireplace to find a little warmth and a pleasantly relaxing atmosphere. Equipment necessary for the Etna and wine excursion. Sneakers or trekking shoes and windbreaker. Trekking shoes supplied on request. Excursion starts from Catania. Fee per person: € 65 per person, minimum 4 participants. The fee includes: transfer, guided tour, lunch of local products and wine.
On a typical lesson day we meet in the morning at one of Palermo’s oldest markets, shop around for any items we will need for the lesson and then stroll to the air-conditioned school kitchen where we prepare a 4 course Sicilian meal, learning the techniques and tricks needed to recreate it when you return home. After the lesson we can sit down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour along with a selection of Sicilian wines rounded off with some homemade liqueurs and coffee. We believe that the true expression of Sicilian cuisine comes from the quality of its fresh seasonal produce so we strive to always ensure that we have the best of what Sicily has to offer in order to share this with our guests. This is an entertaining and informative day out, recommended for cooks of all levels.
